Who are We BRIGHTSPAN was established in October 2001. Brightspan Learning Centre is a sub-division of Smart Kidz LLP and is a MOE Registered Private Enrichment School offering top quality CREATIVE ENGLISH Enrichment Courses for children of ages 2 to 16. In Year 2005, we take pride to pursue this unique training programme and to encourage all teachers to continue achieving a higher level of accreditations.BRIGHTSPAN’s Adults LAMDA Speech & Drama Course is designed for adults who wish to pursue working with children or adults in Speech & Drama.
We grow with you by providing opportunities with good record of personal achievement with critical appraisal and guidance leading towards LAMDA Speech examinations or Trinity Guildhall who are internationally recognised. Excellent career opportunities at BRIGHTSPAN upon completion of the course.
Company-sponsored participants may enrol our Introduction to Speech & Drama - Teaching through www.sdf.gov.sg.
Teacher-Trainers Our dynamic & creative teacher-trainers are trained by Professional English Chartered experts from UK in Phonics & Guided Reading Techniques, and Speech & Drama. They are qualified and experienced teachers with extensive experiences in early childhood and secondary education, instructor-trainer, theatre and speech training. At SMART KIDZ, all teachers are registered with MOE.
Course Outline
Objectives Speech and Drama equips an individual with the necessary tools to communicate effectively. At Brightspan we impart our exciting Speech and Drama program through poetry, stories, improvisation and imagination, music, ideas sharing and generation, and of course dramatisations!
Content
Entry Requirements Applicants must be at least 19 years of age prior to course entry. Applicants must be proficient in both written and spoken English. Applicants who desire to teach young children in the area of Speech & Drama.
Schedule Duration: 6 months Venue: SMARTKIDZ, Kovan Centre Once a week or Twice a week
A “Certificate of Participation” will be given to participants with 80% attendance.
Course Outline
Objectives This in-depth, theoretical training program is aimed at adults who are keen to teach Speech and Drama to children aged 3½ to 8. It also supports experienced teachers and/or student teachers in the classroom.
It covers techniques that are important in the study and delivery of Speech and Drama. Candidates will work towards the graded LAMDA exam at the end of the program.

Entry Requirements Applicants must have completed BRIGHTSPAN’s Stage 1: INTRODUCTION TO SPEECH & DRAMA or other relevant Speech & Drama Qualification and must have experience in teaching young children.
Schedule Duration: TBC Venue: Brightspan, Kovan Centre Once a week or Twice a week
Certification & LAMDA UK Qualification A “Certificate of Participation” will be given to participants with 80% attendance. Participants with a “Pass”, “Merit” or “Distinction” in the LAMDA Examination will receive a LAMDA Certification & Written Report, issued by the LAMDA Board of Examiners, UK. The examination is usually held in Sep / Dec.
