Primary Creative English

TEACHING WRITING,EDITING AND PUBLISHING SKILLS

Suitable for children from ages of 7 to 12; Once a week, 1½ hour

	Beginner ~ Primary 1 to 2
	Advance I ~ Primary 3 to 4
	Advance II ~ Primary 5 to 6

Primary Creative Reading & Writing course is designed to teach children develop their READING and WRITING as well as LISTENING and SPEAKING confidence to their fullest potentials. Children will undergo a balanced & guided literacy incorporating quality content–based books that were chosen from around the world and complies with the international standard. They explore different language features from a variety of texts, materials and activities, which includes:

Writing

	Genres - Fiction and Non-fiction including biography, history, science fiction, fantasy, mystery, horror, fairytales, academic and business pieces
	Writing Styles
	Point of view, Character, Setting, Plot, Illustration and Presentation

Editing

Grammar - Tenses, Modal Verbs, Conditionals, Passive, Reported Speech, Questions, -ing and the infinitive, Articles, Relative clauses, Adjectives and adverbs, word order, Prepositions

Vocabulary and Expression

Publishing

Publishers - Newspaper, Newsletters, Magazines, Brochures and pamphlets, Books, Bookmarks, Posters

This programme is endorsed by National Arts Council (NAC) since late 2006. It programme(min entry age is 8) leads to UK LAMDA Reading Performance Examinations.
